The Fred Hollows Foundation’s Partnership team is excited to announce the success of our first Fred Hollows Giving Day, held on World Sight Day this year.

We know it’s been a tough year and in times like these, it’s important to support the causes we hold dear. Now more than ever The Foundation is looking for ways to collaborate with small to medium businesses in mutually beneficial ways.

We know that customers will choose a business that supports a cause rather than one that doesn’t. In fact 90% of customers said they would switch to a similarly priced product of a brand that has a strong social or environmental commitment. (Cone Communications/Ebiquity Global CSR Study, 2015).

This World Sight Day, we provided businesses from across Australia with the opportunity to leverage their social impact and show their customers what they care about. The Foundation provided the marketing materials for this, including:
  • Email signatures
  • Posters
  • QR codes to donate
  • Social media posts with captions showing your impact
  • A Fred Hollows Giving Day Badge to display on the businesses website
  • A feature on The Foundation’s corporate partnership website
  • A virtual briefing to discuss how these resources can be best used.

This campaign was designed to provide everything that was needed for businesses to promote to their customers straight away.

World Sight Day is a unique marketing opportunity to promote your social responsibility in an authentic way, particularly if your business messaging or strategy already aligns with The Fred Hollows Foundation’s work to restore sight.

For example, if your business has a sight-related product, if you work in the same countries around the world, if you are passionate about ending gender inequity in eye health, or if you have a Reconciliation Action Plan or share a commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

Many of the funds raised on the day were matched by The Foundation’s partner, Corporate Match 2.0, doubling the impact and restoring sight to more people.

The Foundationwas thrilled to have multiple businesses joining us in the campaign this year.
